We recruit on behalf of several large American cruise lines. Most of the ships we recruit for have 2 trumpet positions onboard – Lead and second.
Working with the main theatre orchestra, both chairs require excellent technique and, as rehearsal time is often limited, you’ll need rock solid reading ability. You’ll need experience of having played with big bands, smaller groups and musical theatre.
If you’re interested in the lead position (which pays a bit more), you’ll need proven section-leading abilities and a dependable working range up to G above high C.
If you’re interested in the 2nd position, you’ll need to be confident in your improvisational abilities across a range of styles.
